Here are my favorite ten images of Porto, Portugal! Porto was our first stop in Portugal after having to put a pause on walking the Camino de Santiago in Spain. Without knowing anything about the city, we booked an apartment for a week. The apartment was located on the banks of the Duoro River with a stunning view of the Dom Luis bridge. It was also an easy walk across the river to visit Vila Nova de Gaia to taste port wine. We absolutely recommend port tasting while in Porto.
Porto was lovely! It has beautiful historic buildings, but the real show stoppers are the azulejos that adorn several buildings around the city. In general, I remember Porto as being a very artsy and bohemian city. Porto is also where I discovered pasteis de nata, a Portuguese delight, along with many other yummy sweet treats! I also started drinking espressos in Porto and I’ve never been able to go back to drip coffee after that!
Looking at these pictures brings so many good memories. I have definitely become more photography-oriented, and sometimes I miss the casual photo snapping to simply capture the moment. Also, it’s fun to see our pre-kids travels from a fresh perspective. Anyway, I hope you enjoy my ten images of Porto, Portugal!
