Lima In Ten Images

Lima is a city that is often misunderstood. Many travelers completely skip it, or only stop there for a layover, which I think is a terrible mistake. Lima is definitely a hectic big city, but if you dig deeper, you will discover a beautiful city rich in culture. In these ten images of Lima I try to show how diverse and beautiful the city is!

With the Pacific Ocean to the West, and hills to the East, Lima is very geographically diverse. Lima’s coastline is beautiful and offers some gorgeous beaches, both for swimming and surfing. The hills (or arms of the Andes) are a great place to hike or mountain bike, which is very popular in Lima.

Peru’s capital city also offers wonderful museums with collections including pre-Inca, Inca, and colonial art and artifacts. There are even pre-Inca ruins right in the heart of the city that you can visit! The historic city center boasts beautiful architecture that dates back to the Spanish colonial times. Foodies will love Lima and its many Michelin starred restaurants, and its title of Food Capital of the World. I didn’t include any photos of food because I apparently eat my food before I can even photograph it!

When planning a visit to Peru, I strongly recommend you spend at least a couple of days in Lima. Go out and explore the historic city center, visit a museum or two, and relax at one of the many beaches south of the city. And while you are busy soaking up all the cultural activities, don’t forget to indulge in some delicious Peruvian food!

Hope you enjoy these ten images of Lima!
